Description What it is

SN 100 MC (SLE) is an advanced three-component epoxy mid-coat flooring system, engineered to deliver exceptional build, durability, and performance. It forms a dense, seamless intermediate layer and is typically installed at a nominal thickness of 1–4 mm for optimal load distribution and long-term service life.

Uses Where to use

A high-performance epoxy mid-coat system providing excellent chemical resistance and a durable, hard-wearing floor finish. Suitable as a protective overlay on newly installed floors and for repair/refurbishment of existing flooring.

Benefits Performance
  • Impact resistance.
  • Seamless & hygienic finish (no crevices where dirt and bacteria can dwell).
  • Temperature resistant 0°C to 85°C.
  • Excellent chemical resistance.
  • High abrasion resistance.
  • Low odor during installation.
  • Smooth surface finish.
Substrate Compatible bases

Suitable for application over sound substrates including concrete, wood, tile, and metal. Application over asphalt or previously painted surfaces is not recommended, as it may compromise adhesion and long-term performance.

System Options Cove base

Cove Base

For a continuous and integral seal at the floor–wall junction, coving may be formed using SN 100 MC (SLE) Coving Mortar in conjunction with SN 100 Primer. This improves hygiene, durability, and protection at critical joint interfaces.

Hardening Time At 30°C

The PDF indicates “Hardening Time — At 30°C allow:” but does not provide the numeric values. For accuracy, confirm the timing from your official internal method statement or project specification.

Tip: If you share the exact times, I’ll insert them cleanly in a table (foot traffic / light traffic / full cure).
Substrate Preparation Bond critical

Proper preparation is critical to ensure adequate bond. The substrate must be dry and free of grease, fats, oil, and laitance. Use totally enclosed shot blasting or scarification to create an open textured surface (sandpaper-like profile).

Mixing 30 sec + 30 sec
  1. Add Part A and Part B into the mixing pail.
  2. Mix with a blender for 30 seconds.
  3. Add Part C and mix again for 30 seconds.
Important: Mix only what can be applied within the pot life.
Pot Life Working time

Working time is approximately 10–15 minutes at 30°C. Working time varies with temperature.

Application Step-by-step
Rule: Material must be used immediately after mixing.
  • Use a screed rake to distribute the mixed material onto the floor.
  • Use a V-notched hand trowel and pull at right angles to the floor.
  • Use a spiked roller to release air and help the aggregate settle, allowing liquids to come to the surface.
Cure: Allow approximately 12 hours for full chemical cure (as stated).
Shelf Life 12 months

Store unopened in dry conditions at 25°C to 35°C. Avoid excessive heat and do not allow material to freeze. Shelf life is 12 months when stored in original, unopened packaging under recommended conditions.

Cleaning Up Solvents

Clean mixing and application equipment immediately after use. Use toluene or xylene. Observe all fire and health precautions when handling or storing solvent.

Important Avoid contamination

For extended interruptions (e.g., lunch break), thoroughly clean mixing paddles and containers before suspending work. This prevents contamination from partially cured residues, which can severely impair workability, trowelability, and final floor finish quality.

Caution PPE & first aid

Avoid contact with Part A and Part B as they may cause skin and/or eye irritation. In case of contact, flush with clean water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention. Use impervious gloves; wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after use and before eating/smoking.
