Most adhesion failures come from surface prep (dust/laitance/oils), moisture, or applying outside the recoat window. Confirm substrate strength, dryness, and cleanliness; follow primer guidance; and respect mixing ratios and pot-life. If it’s a multi-coat system, check intercoat timing and surface condition before recoating.
Pinholes often come from porous substrates and trapped air. Use appropriate primer/sealer, apply at the recommended consumption, and avoid rolling too fast on hot or windy days. Ensure you’re not over-thinning and that the substrate isn’t outgassing (warm slab cooling rapidly can cause bubbles).
It depends on the product chemistry and the system. Many cementitious products tolerate damp-but-not-wet substrates, while some coatings require dry conditions. If you’re unsure, do a quick moisture check, and use Technical Support for a compatibility recommendation to avoid debonding or blistering.
Typical causes: high water addition, insufficient curing, applying too thick in one pass, weak substrate, or high thermal/wind exposure. Follow the recommended water ratio, apply in layers if required, ensure proper curing, and confirm the substrate is sound and properly prepared.
Wait time depends on product type, thickness, and site conditions. As a safe practice, confirm the membrane has cured fully and passed inspection/leak testing (where applicable). Always follow the datasheet’s curing and overcoating window.
Long-life sealant performance needs correct joint design, proper depth control with backer rod, primer where specified, clean joint faces, and proper tooling. Protect fresh sealant from dust, water, and movement until cure is complete.
